Information on how Urban Marque was formed

Creation & Connection

Our partners have been supplying timber frame buildings to UK and European markets for several years and although most were on a commercial scale e.g. schools, office and apartments, houses and hotels, we identified a need for ‘affordable housing’ and worked on this area for some time, creating a system that filled the void.

The UK has relaxed many planning rules and introduced several new consented building opportunities into which our systems fit perfectly. We tested the market in UK for ‘no-planning’ garden lodge sales and received a very favourable response so we decided that a dedicated new company should be created to deal solely with this area of design, engineering and construction as it is quite complex and varied, so URBAN MARQUE was formed to specialize in this area of our industry.





Overview

URBAN MARQUE will supply all types of units directly to the public and trade buyers such as holiday parks etc. The products will be split into three distinct areas as follows:

  • ‘Lodge’ means Static Caravan – Granny Annex- Mobile Home or any other single story building that has residential capacity. Most of these buildings can be built without planning permission up to 20m x 6.8m (136m2) – subject to buyers circumstances. See The Caravan Acts of 1960 & 1968 and revision 2005.
  • Are any buildings that can be constructed under the TCPA General permitted development Order of 2015. These include all non-residential units such as garden offices, day rooms, gymnasiums and studios. We also produce a no planning requirement self-build home flat pack extension kit.
  • Innovative Living offers solutions for creating living accommodation using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in such places as Derelict Buildings, Loft Spaces, Consented Extensions and other “thinking outside the box” ideas

Competition

There are few who can compete with us in the market as most only sell shed type buildings that are not structurally engineered and will not comply with UK building regulations. Most can’t reach the requirements of the Caravan Acts and those that can, are very high priced as they have no control over their design and manufacturing costs.

URBAN MARQUE is backed by very experienced, professionally qualified individuals who have a sound knowledge of construction, design, planning laws, timber frame manufacture and project management. We can address and correct any problems that a prospective client may have and we offer a range of services and products that nobody else can offer.

We have a range of our own help leaflets and information guides that we will give to prospects and we encourage contact at anytime to cement a sound relationship from day one.

Even those who opt for a self-build package can rely on us for ongoing assistance and back-up during the complete course of construction so that they don’t get into difficulties.

Aims

We want to create a company that can be relied on for assistance and customer care. We want to supply quality units at an affordable level to an open market and not portray an image selective high-end supply that would limit enquiries from the general public.

We want to portray an image of integrity, openness and the will to assist at all times.
